The 2D RPG platformer Underhero, inspired by the likes of Paper Mario and other great Nintendo adventures, has arrived for the gaming masses on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 to deliver its own distinctive spin on a hero’s journey. Would you like to know more about the heroic journey ahead?
Underhero is the debut title from Venezuelan developers Paper
Castle,with the premise
of the game turning the hero journey as you know it on its head. Due to the failure
of the chosen hero, players will instead take control of an underling of the
main baddie, who begrudgingly embarks on the perilous quest. Aided by a magical
companion, this accidental adventurer must purge all evil from the Chestnut
Kingdom and bring about the demise of their former boss, Mr Stitches.
Prepare to traverse the colourful Chestnut Kingdom and
tackle a number of quirky bosses by getting to grips with a special
timing-based combat system. Solving puzzles and uncovering the secrets of this
world will become commonplace on the heroic quest. There’s also some old-school
platforming fun to be had, a quirky cast of characters to meet along the way,
and a light-hearted story to enjoy that’s full of humour.
For those wishing to be the unlikely saviour in Underhero,
it’s out right now to purchase via the Xbox Store
for £14.24 – and you’ll find it on the PlayStation Store too. Sadly, Nintendo
Switch owners must wait a little while longer, with a release coming on 27th February.
